One minute, honestly told
Watch what one small, brave step looks like.
You are not doing this wrong
You've been doing the hardest job in the world with no instructions.
Reading everything. Trying everything. Lying awake wondering whether the tiny thing that happened at dinner was a win or a fluke. Being told to "just make them eat it" by people who have never watched a child panic over a plate. That is an exhausting way to love your child, and you have done it bravely.
The Playbook starts from a different place: your child isn't being difficult, and you didn't cause this. Eating is a skill built in small steps, and there's a gentle, well-mapped path through them.
"She looked at a new food tonight. For the first time, I knew that counted."
The belief shift
Eating is the last step, not the first.
Most advice measures one thing: did they eat it. The Playbook measures eight. Every step on this ladder is real progress a child's nervous system has to earn, and when you can see the steps, "she didn't eat it" stops meaning "we failed."
The book shows you how to invite each step without pressure, what to say while it happens, and how to protect the safe foods that keep your child fed while you climb.
- Tolerates it in the roomThe food can exist nearby. That's step one.
- Looks at itCuriosity, from a safe distance.
- Touches itA fingertip counts.
- Smells itThe senses go first. Always.
- Licks itA brave, tiny hello.
- Tastes itIn and out is still a taste.
- Chews itTexture, on their terms.
- Swallows itThe last step. Never the first ask.
Inside the Playbook
Know what to serve, what to try next, and what to say.
- Protect the safe foods. Why your child's short list is an asset, not a defeat, and how to keep it safe while you expand it.
- Food chaining, kitchen edition. How to walk from an accepted food to a new one through tiny, sensible bridges.
- The mealtime script. The five-step routine for the meal itself: what to prepare together, how to set the stage, what to say, and how to end well.
- Pressure-free exposure. How to invite every rung of the ladder without bribes, battles, or tears.
- Is it working? How to log the small wins so you can actually see the trend, and what to bring to your child's pediatrician or feeding therapist.
The Playbook is educational and built on published feeding therapy principles. It is not medical advice, and it will keep pointing you back to your child's care team.
From kitchens like yours
Moms who stopped white-knuckling dinner
"The first night we tried the mealtime script, nobody cried. Not him, not me. I didn't know dinner could be that quiet."
"She touched a piece of pear and I almost missed how big that was. This book taught me to see it."
"I have read everything on the internet at 2am. This is the first thing that told me what to actually do tomorrow."
"My husband finally gets it. We run the same plan now instead of arguing about whose fault dinner was."

Fair questions
Before you order
Who is this for?
Parents and caregivers of children roughly 2 to 12 with ARFID or extreme picky eating, diagnosed or suspected. Many of these kids also live with autism, anxiety, or ADHD, and the Playbook is written with that in mind.
Is this medical advice?
No. The Playbook is educational, built on published feeding therapy principles like food chaining and graded exposure. It works alongside your child's pediatrician, feeding therapist, or dietitian, never instead of them.
What exactly does $4.95 cover?
Shipping and handling for the physical book, anywhere in the US. The book itself is free, and the ebook arrives by email the moment you order.
How does the ARFID Ally trial work?
Your order includes 14 days of the full ARFID Ally app. After the trial it's $29 a month unless you cancel. We email you a reminder before the trial ends, and canceling takes two clicks from a link in any email or from Settings. If you cancel, everything you logged stays readable and yours.
